The Telling, now at ARe!

My very first novel, The Telling, is now available at All Romance Ebooks as a free read. Sadly, it's only in PDF format, because I don't know how to create the other kind. (I had help with the PDF!) Anyone know the secret to creating an EPUB or other format that's not gonna require me to whip out my poor, long-suffering credit card?

Here's the link to ARe:

  1. Have you tried Calibre, with the source as an rtf file? You need to make sure you don't have smart quotes, m dashes, or smart ellipses for Calibre to convert it effectively. Or... be better at Calibre than am I. :D

  2. I tried Calibre once, didn't know what I was doing, and wound up with...well, you don't wanna know. It wasn't pretty. But I've seen some comments from readers who'd like it in another format, and I'd really like to oblige. Okay, you convinced me. First thing tomorrow I'll try again! Thanks!

  3. I was also going to recommend Calibre. I convert all my PDFs that way, even though it makes them look wonky (since the line breaks are set). But if you do it from RTF that should be better! Good luck!

  4. Thanks! I haven't tried yet, but intend to. Especially since I just put Night Watch at ARe also.

  5. I attempted to the convert file, and although I can now use it with my Kindle app, the ARe site does not recognize it. There is someone I know who'll convert it for a fee, but I'm hesitant to spent any more on a free read.
