Jared's Got Talent

I want to take some time out from talking writing to let ya'll know about a very talented cover artist and friend, Jared Rackler. He's been a tremendous help in conceptualizing my stories for artwork and designed covers for some of my work. His latest, for a short story sequel to The Telling, is so fabulous I cried the first time I saw it. Ya'll, I'm pleased to present the cover of Night Watch, which has gotten quite a few compliments.

Ain't it purdy? And so very right for the story.

  1. I do love the cover of Night Watch. I bet you can guess that I'm particularly fond of covers that have little to no chance of becoming Misadventures. :)

  2. Hee hee. I don't think you have to worry about that with Jared. He's done a few covers and created some concepts for me and P.D. Singer and none would supply you with Misadventure ammo. He has the advantage of actually getting to read the story before creating, though (he also does beta duties), so he stands a really good chance of capturing the mood.

  3. I just finished reading The Telling and I absolutely loved it. I literally read it in one night. I am in the military myself and I was amazed at how accurately you captured someone who has come home from war torn and fighting off demons that no one but the people in his unit or close to him could possibly understand.

In saying all that..lol. I googled your name and found your blog and immediately joined only to find out that you have a short story sequel to it. To say that I was happy would be a slight understatement. My only issue is that I can't find a place to buy it. I've gone to several sights that say I can, but when I try it comes up empty.

Where can I get this story? I really really want to read it.

  5. Wow! What a compliment. I'm so glad you like the story. I did work hard to try and capture what Michael was feeling. My hat's off to you and all others serving in the military, the toughest job in the world.

The sequel is called Night Watch, and it's only a short story. It's available at the GLBT Bookshelf. Here's the link. Part of the proceeds go to support the site.

Hopefully, I'll have a full length sequel written soon, about Ryan.

It's time to change the hottie on my "Meet the Boys" gadget. Maybe I should put up Jay again.
